I got my first aura photograph done by the amazing Radiant Human in 2015 during her early studio days in Portland, OR. I returned annually until she relocated, at which point I was lucky to have my portrait done by other amazing photographers: Aura/Iris (done in Seattle, WA), Aura Weaver (done in Denver, CO), HappyAura (done in Wichita, KS), and Anastasia Aura (done in Wichita, KS).

In 2026, I felt an intense intuitive push back to community + analog technology and as a result: The Energy Co. was born.

Aura photography is an interactive portrait experience that uses biofeedback and Polaroid film to create a colorful representation of your energy in that moment. You’ll leave with a completely unique Polaroid portrait and a reading of your colors and what they traditionally represent.

We use an AuraCam 6000, a specialized camera system developed by Guy Coggins. During your portrait, you place your hands on biofeedback sensors that collect electrodermal and temperature readings. The system translates those readings into colors that are exposed onto the film along with your portrait.

Yep! Your portrait is created in-camera and developed on instant film. There’s no AI generating your aura, no digital filter added afterward, and no Photoshop creating the colors. What comes out of the camera is what you get, which is part of the magic.

Different colors are traditionally associated with different qualities, emotions, and energetic states. After your portrait develops, we’ll walk through the colors, their placement, and what they may represent for you right now.

Probably not! Aura portraits are intended to capture a moment in time, and colors may look different from one session to another. That’s part of the fun: come back later and see what changes.

Wear something that feels like you. Solid, darker colors tend to give the aura colors the most contrast, while busy patterns can compete visually with them. But personal style is encouraged, this is your portrait, after all.
